King Charles fans in fits over unearthed clip of Drag Queen crashing royal seats
Fans have been in stitches after an unearthed video of King Charles and Camila was posted to TikTok. It showed the pair being pranked by the Drag Queen persona of comedian Barry Humphries, Dame Edna Everage.
King Charles and his wife, who were then Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall, were attending the Royal Variety Performance when they had their hilarious encounter with the Drag Queen in 2013. Now the clip has resurfaced, people are crying with laughter all over again. The Royal Variety Performance is an event that happens annually to help raise money for those in the entertainment industry who have become sick, having financial difficulties, or are too old to work.

Dame Edna pranks King Charles and Camila
During her performance, which aired on TV, Dame Edna gatecrashed the royal box, sitting down next to the now Queen Consort and exchanging smiles with the pair. Then, after being handed and reading from a card passed to her, and having a ‘message’ whispered in her ear, she delivered the punch line.
She turned to Camila and the King and explained: “So sorry, they’ve found me a better seat.”
This caused the couple to fall into hysterics along with the rest of the crowd as she left.

King Charles pays tribute to Dame Edna
In April this year, Humphries died at the age of 89 in his native Australia. He had a good relationship with Camila and Charles, so it’s no surprise the King recently paid tribute to the celebrity. He referenced the memorable Dame Edna moment in a statement. It was read out on his behalf at a memorial service for Humphries.
Charles said: “I suspect that all those who appeared on stage or on TV with Barry’s Dame Edna, or who found her appearing at the back of the royal box, will have shared that unique sensation where fear and fun combine.
“Those who tried to stand on their dignity soon lost their footing. Those who wondered whether Australia’s housewife superstar might this time just go too far were always proved right. No one was safe.”
He added Humpheries’ characters, such as Dame Edna, “poked and prodded us, exposed pretensions, punctured pomposity, surfaced insecurities but, most of all, made us laugh at ourselves
