Caitlin Clark & Angel Reese's Fashion Has the People's Attention

It’s a banner year for women’s sports. Well, at least in the sense that people are finally paying attention to it. This year, the NCAA’s women’s basketball stars Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese won hearts, not just for their court skills, but also their looks. Caitlin Clark’s and Angel Reese’s fashion has our attention.

Clark and Reese have been the suspected favorites for the WNBA draft, and last night at BAM in New York City, Clark was the number one pick, going to Indiana Fever, Reese number two going to Chicago Sky. But the other thing we’re talking about is their drip. Clark wore a white co-ord from Prada—a silk mini skirt and matching oversized jacket with a silver sequin crop top inside. She styled it with a pair of sunglasses, pointed-toe pumps, a small black bag, plus jewelry from John Hardy. Reese wore a sparkly hooded dress by New York brand Bronx and Banco.

With all these huge fashion stunts and the superstar attention, fans are wondering if we might see Clark and her fellow players at the Met Gala. It’s not completely out of the realm of possibility. The steps of the Met have seen decorated female athletes like Serena and Venus Williams, Brittany Grier, Simone Biles, Megan Rapinoe, Naomi Osaka, Maria Sharapova, and many more. But this is the first time women’s athletics have inspired so much enthusiasm at the collegiate level.

So far, while there’s a lot of speculation from fans online, we don’t know if Clark’s designer selects are going to lead to a fashion partnership for sure. We definitely wouldn’t be surprised though. A TikToker named Micaela made a video wondering what it could mean for Clark to be wearing major brands: Was that Christian Dior necklace she wore a hint about a partnership? Was her WNBA Prada outfit foreshadowing for what she’d wear to the Met Gala? Or is she just treating herself to nice things after the end of a killer college sports career? Perhaps, time will tell.

In the comments, people speculated if we’re going to be seeing the WNBA rookies at the Met Gala. And while we can’t say until the first Monday in May, here’s what we do know: Reese debuted the news of her draft entry in Vogue, so we shouldn’t be surprised at all if that means she and the brand will maintain a friendship. Vogue typically invites cover stars and major features to the Met. Clark, aside from her appearances in designer fashion, just made a pretty elite appearance on SNL this past weekend. And one thing about Anna Wintour is if people are paying attention to rising talent, so, too, is she.
